Around Our School

The 2018-2019 school year is very quickly coming to an end.  With just 15.5 school days left, this will be the last monthly newsletter of the year.  It’s hard to believe that we are so close to reaching our 180 day mark...180 days of success! Our students have achieved individual goals set at the beginning of the school year, and as a school, our students have attained some of the highest academic honors in the county and state. To say that I’m proud would be an understatement!  Way to go Tigers!!

Parents, thank you for all you do to help your children be successful.  I GREATLY appreciate EVERYTHING you’ve done for our school this year.  We couldn’t do what we do without YOU!  THANKS to each of you for the support you provide your children and for EXPECTING them be the best they can be.  And from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your relentless support of Scott Teays Elementary.  I’m very grateful to partner with such a great team…

 -Amazing Students

 -Fantastic Staff

 -Devoted Parents

Together is ALWAYS better…. Thanks for everything!  May the summer of 2019 be your best summer ever!

Best of Luck Class of 2026

The beginning of each school year is met with great anticipation and excitement, and the end always holds the same excitement and anticipation of the future, but mixed with a degree of sadness. We will soon say goodbye to our fifth graders.  Most of these boys and girls have walked our halls and warmed our hearts for six years.  On June 4th, they will walk out our door for the final time and will enter Winfield Middle School in the fall.  We are so proud of how far they’ve come and look forward to seeing all the wonderful things that lie ahead for the class of 2026.  We always say, "Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger."  So, to the Scott Teays Tigers Class of 2026, thanks for the wonderful memories.  Follow your dreams and change the world!

Report cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school.  If your child is not going to be present on the last day, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope to your child's teacher to mail the report home.  All unclaimed report cards will be sent to the central office.

Field Day

Field Day will take place on May 17th for grades K-2 at STE and May 31st for grades 3-5 beginning at 9:00 at Winfield High School.  We will travel by school bus to WHS where we will utilize the football field for our activities.  Students will have the option of purchasing a school bagged lunch which will include:  hot dog, chips, apple, carrots, and water.  We will use the regular lunch billing system for all students wishing to have a school bagged lunch.  Students may also bring a bagged lunch from home.  Items will also be available for purchase through the concession stand at WHS.  All proceeds will benefit the STE Physical Education program.

Teachers will be in charge of signing out their students to parents that wish to check out their child during or after Field Day.  Please DO NOT take your child from WHS without first signing him or her out with the teacher.  It is County policy that only parents and legal guardians can sign students out during activities away from school.  If you wish for a grandparent or other family member to sign out your child, you must provide a written note to the school prior to the students leaving for the activity.  Each student must have a signed permission slip to attend.  Please make sure you have turned in your child’s permission slip.
